Art, Sciences and Humanities Residence
House Museum Alberto Baeryswill
My interest in the Puerto Yartou residence is based on continuing an investigation of water observed as a generator of geographical and cultural change, but established within a specific world limit; and explore it from two different perspectives: a macro, consisting of the study of maps, aerial images of the route of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego, hydrographic basins and their main tributaries, lakes, canals, the water crisis and its temporal relationship , the retreat of glaciers, lakes and rivers; and other matters that are presented under the category of major scale; and on the other hand, a micro perspective, which consists of a study -in the way of a mobile laboratory- based on underwater observation of rivers and lakes, sediments and composition of water reserves associated with color, collection of stones on the riverbank and vegetation existing. This study will be carried out using observation and comparison tools with maps, a waterproof camera (photo and video), a magnifying glass, a microscope, a hydrophone, ink drawings, photographs, recording stories, among others.
All the collected material will be organized in a system-type composition, where all the factors that affect freshwater reserves are related, such as: climatic, physical (gravity), geographical, formal and temporary.
