BRUMA:
Practices of residing.

Valdivia, Chile.

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) together with Replica Gallery of the Austral University of Chile (UACh), in alliance with the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, in collaboration with Espacio, COMA and Galería Barrios Bajos and with the With the support of CONAF, commemorate the five years of Chilean participation in the ARS Electrónica Festival with the realization of a powerful program of artistic residences in the Los Ríos region. The initiative called Bruma. Living Practices proposes a web of scientific, ecological, affective, artistic, social and cultural experiences inserted in the territory, in the city of Valdivia and in the University. The program, which will run from April 10 to 15, contemplates the participation of eighteen national artists, including academics from the UACh and local visual artists; all of whom will have various locations of natural landscapes inserted in the territory of Los Ríos as an experimental laboratory.

The Bruma artistic residency program put together a web of scientific, ecological, affective, artistic, social and cultural experiences inserted in the territory, in the city of Valdivia and in the university. The curatorial proposal was articulated around the urgency of thinking about the co-evolutionary and relational immanence of human and non-human bodies, the technopoetic potentialities and the various temporalities involved in the experience of residing within a dilated range of duration.
