Constelante

Collective Exhibition En tres tiempos, Macchina Gallery -2011

Installation

Bucket, Motor, Water, Security Camera, Real time video projection.

The Constelante project's main objective is to generate a whirlpool of water inside a paint tub. This originates from the motor of a water pump, located at the base of the bucket. The propeller (typical of the engine) rotates circularly and moves the 10 liters of water in a state of containment causing a whirlpool in the center, a hole that starts from the base and extends to the surface.

The image produced by the movement of water is enhanced thanks to the incorporation of fragments of candle wax and feather plugs, which when turning at engine speed disappear in their individuality, to give rise to a circular plane that shows us the entire of the elements sustained by the movement around the eddy. Thanks to the incorporation of a timer, the circular image present inside the bucket is constantly made and undone, working from a formal perspective as a galaxy metaphor. This is observed by means of a security camera installed on the container, projecting the image of the liquid in motion to the vertical wall.
