Astro

Mapuhue Park, Comuna La Pintana, Santiago de Chile -2021

Public Art / Solar Observatory

ASTRO The work is mainly composed of four granitic and basaltic rocks inscribed in the figure of a great analemma, a red sign that marks the movement of the sun observed every day of the year, from the same time and place on our planet. When the shadow of each rock matches the graphite-colored hemisphere, the summer and winter solstices and the spring and autumn equinoxes can be recognized. There is also the figure of Halley's comet (that visits us in 2061) and the next solar eclipse in 2064, which can be seen from central Chile.
